Guided by the belief that every young person possesses the potential to be proactive and innovative, we have established the Young Entrepreneurs Development Council (YDC) in 1997 to nurture their potential. We develop programs to inspire and cultivate entrepreneurial spirit among them – a spirit which encompasses the virtues of being initiative, industrious, enterprising, innovative, visionary and committed. This lays a firm foundation for the career and life planning of our youth, and is conducive to enhancing Hong Kong’s sustainable competitiveness in the long run.
The programs which we have organized in the past two decades include the School-Company-Parent (SCP) Program, E-Challenge, Life Planning Co-operation Program, Dare To Change Business Pitch Competition, Mind Way My Way® Life Planning Program, and YDC SCP Program–JC InnoMind®. Over 42,000 students from secondary schools, tertiary institutes and universities have participated in these programs, and our next goal is to extend such services also to primary school students and young employees.
Our vision is shared by many in the community. We are grateful to the business and academic sectors for working together with us over the years. We also wish to thank Company Ambassadors, teachers and volunteers for providing voluntary service, as well as parents for joining our programs both as volunteers and as participants to witness their children’s growth and to support them in preparing for the future. Above all, we have received generous support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, Innovation and Technology Commission, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, Family Council, and the Home Affairs Bureau and Education Bureau of the HKSAR Government for making our accomplishments possible.
